Connecticut author, Hollie Rose, will celebrate the publication of her book –
When Push Comes to Shove; Real Life on Dead Tour; The Journals of Hollie A. Rose.
When Push Comes to Shove is a book shaped from actual journals written while Rose lived full-time on Grateful Dead Tour, following the band everywhere they went.
Though Rose’s first show was in 1983, and her 100th show was in 1987, this book covers the time period 1988 through 1992; Years that were musically outstanding, spiritually enlightening, and heartbreaking by turns. The characters in this book are those folks who must sell something to get from show to show. They are artists and entrepreneurs. If you ever wandered the lot at a long ago Dead Show, you probably purchased something from them. T-shirts? Ice cold beers? Tape covers? (Does anyone even know what tape covers are these days???)
