UPCOMING:
So I’ve recorded a short interview with a gentleman for a project of his. Only it’s super secret and his website isn’t live yet and I’m not allowed to tell you anything about it.
In fact… why don’t you forget I even mentioned it, eh?
PAST APPEARANCES and ARTICLES:

RADIO APPEARANCE –
KPFA Listener Supported Public Radio
Every week DJ Tim Lynch give us an earful on his show Dead to the World.
He dives right in to the meat of my book. Thanks Tim.
Here’s the bit where I talk during the December 10, 2025 airing of the show.
This was recorded live – it’s only about 15 minutes or so but it’s good!

BOOK CLUB DISCUSSION –
SO MANY READS – A reading and discussion group that focuses on books by and about The Grateful Dead facilitated by Julie DeLong
I’m honored that my book was chosen for discussion – the discussion date was November 17, 2025.
There isn’t a lot formal about this group. It’s casual and laid back. As this recording opens up here, the group – which meets on Zoom – had just watched one of my short videos from the lot in Landover Maryland. (That video and many others can be found on my YouTube Channel.) So the recording is a little chaotic at first as Julie tries to properly get back to the business of a facilitating a Book Group.
Also – I mean lets be real – this is a group of Deadheads on Zoom, the whole thing is a bit chaotic. Such is life. Have fun with it!
SOME INFO about the reading group – SO MANY READS meets every other month on Zoom to discuss books about the Grateful Dead. Those who wish to participate must be on the email list to get the Zoom link. To get on the list, email Julie DeLong at somanyreads@gmail.com. If you have a Gmail address, you’ll be automatically added to the group at the next update update. If you have any other email address, you will need to respond to an email from Google to join the group, so be sure they keep an eye out for that.
The group also has a Facebook presence here –

ARTICLE –
August 5, 2025
I got a nice mention and some quotes in this article on GratefulWeb.com – about halfway down the page.
“She Still Sparkles: Deadheads Take Over San Francisco“
by Gabriel David Barkin –
Read it HERE.

LIBRARY APPEARANCE –
Nothing to see here folks but I was super proud of this. It’s not an article or interview… but….
I’ll did a book signing at the Page Street branch of the SF Public Library on August 2nd between 11-2. More info here.

RADIO APPEARANCE –
KQED FORUM: Grateful Dead Keeps on Truckin’ for Its 60th Anniversary originally aired August 1, 2025
Another spotlight on the staying power of The Grateful Dead. This from San Francisco’s Public Radio Station. This was recorded the morning of the first of three shows in Golden Gate Park by Dead & Company.
David Gans and I are the two guests on this hour long show. I come in a little after the 18 minute mark and make voice appearances throughout the rest of the hour.
David Gans is a wonderful champion for my book – the very last thing he says in this broadcast is “Hollie’s book is great!” Thanks David!
I think I did pretty good here. I really would love to hear your feedback about this one.
Here’s the Spotify direct link, or listen below on the embedded KQED link.

VIDEO PODCAST –
Living on Grateful Dead Tour – SEEKER of the WAY
This is the project of a friend from Tour who is in my book. Currently he resides outside the US and does a Travel Podcast for seekers. He decided this was enough about traveling and seeking that it was worth an episode. We talked for hours and it had been a very long time.

PODCAST –
THE THIRD DECADE – Sixty Years of The Grateful Dead in San Francisco
This from a series of podcasts put out by Pantheon Media around the 60th Anniversary events with Host Marla Davies.
Episode Duration 38.04
One episode for each of six decades.
I’m in this one – 1985 through 1995!
The whole thing is pretty good, not shying away from honest perspectives.
Chasing the Dragon? The War on Drugs? Yeah – they go there.
It’s also an episode in which I ask – “How long do you stay in a relationship when the only thing still good is the sex?”
Bahahahahahahahahahaha!
The time stamp on the right counts down. I first appear when the countdown timer reads about 27.17ish.
I come in again later, and again even later, but I didn’t catch the time stamps.
And Damn – I’ve gotta say – some of this stuff brings tears to my eyes.

PODCAST –
Good Ol’ Grateful Deadcast – Season 11 – Episode 7
— Enjoying the Ride: ON TOUR —
This is the official Podcast of The Grateful Dead with Jesse Jarnow (Author of the book HEADS)
Episode Duration: 01:33:20
The whole episode is great, but for reference, I come in just about the 47 or 48 minute mark.
This episode shines a light on two very different projects that document Dead Head life, both decades in the making.
Bill Lemke’s “Aging Gratefully” matches Lemke’s gorgeous portraits from the 1980s with contemporary images of the same subjects.
Hollie A. Rose’s “When Push Comes To Shove: Real Life on Dead Tour” offers Rose’s tour journals, circa 1988-1992. Interestingly, her website tracks books by and about Dead Heads, and she’s especially interested in any other tour journals that might survive.
Note from Hollie – This episode starts out with recordings from the hotline by Eileen Law telling us EXACTLY how to send in for mail order tickets!!! Ahhh! The memories!
